Ball Python Morph: Albino

Genetics:

Recessive

Proven by:

Bob Clark (1992)

Albino ball pythons lack all dark pigment, they are amelanistic (containing no melanin.) This is also referred to as tyrosinase-negative or (T-). They are a vivid yellow & white coloration with bright pinkish-red eyes.

Albinos were where it all started. They were the first of the first simple recessive ball python to be produced and offered for sale.

As the first ball python color mutation bred in captivity, Albinos played a large role in the initial interest in ball python color morphs. Selectively bred, these snakes range in appearance from faded to high-contrast. Albino ball pythons also lend their vibrant pigmentation to other color & pattern projects with great results, such as the Albino Spider.
